Apex Legends is now in Season 15, and players are still concerned about cross-progress and whether they can merge their accounts and progress across different platforms.

We’ll go over everything you need to know about cross-progress in Apex Legends.

What is cross-progress in Apex Legends and does Apex have it?

No, Apex Legends does not currently feature cross-progressionSo there’s no way for your Rank, Profile, Cosmetics, Legend Unlocked, and Skins to be followed by you on another platform.

When is cross-progression coming to Apex Legends?

Good news for players who have been waiting for cross-progression to come to Apex Legends. It still appears to be on the developer’s to-do list, with Chad Grenier, a former game director at Respawn, commenting on the subject in 2020. reddit post,

“This is something we are very passionate about, and we are looking at our available options. Very difficult after launch because users may have multiple accounts to merge or use. Easier with Steam because It’s at launch. We’ll update when we have something to talk about.” Grenier said.

Based on Grenier’s comment, it appears there is a chance Cross Progressive will come in the future, but it is currently a difficult task for the team due to users who have multiple accounts on the platform.

For those cases, it seems likely that Respond may offer some sort of account merge option, which may be difficult for them to implement.

Since these comments, there has been another update on the situation by Chad Grenier, who said in a February 2021 Reddit AMA that “it’s still a ways off.”

On August 2, 2022, Alpha Intel stated that they are “actively working” to bring the respawn feature to the game, despite no actual update on cross-progression.

However, properly implementing cross-progress is proving to be a “very technically challenging problem”. The game’s design director has stated that they want to bring it into the game “sooner or later”.

On December 17, 2022, senior producer Josh Meydan provided a major cross-progressive update for Apex Legends with next-gen console support as well as confirming that the feature is “still a work in progress”.

The developer tweeted: “I’m looking forward to the announcement of these things when they’re up and ready.” So, cross-progress hasn’t been abandoned and it’s possible for Apex Legends to get the feature in the near future.

Hopefully, the devs can figure out how to implement cross-progress in Apex Legends. This will make life a lot easier for those who want to change platforms without sacrificing their account data.
