The Challenges for Week 4 of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 are live and they task players to “cover the distance using Kinetic Ore”. Here’s everything you need to know about Kinetic Ore, including what it is, where to find it, and how to travel with it.
With the Winterfest questline now over, Epic Games brings another batch of weekly questlines for players to get a decent XP boost for the season’s Battle Pass. As well as hunting and taming wildlife, players are tasked with “covering distances using kinetic ore”.
Here’s a breakdown of what kinetic ore is, its location on the map, and how to complete Fortnite quests to travel with it.
What is kinetic ore in fortnite?
Kinetic Ore is the purple, shiny block you’ll find around it. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Map.
Striking kinetic ore with your pickaxe will send it flying in the direction you’re facing, smashing through constructions and dealing damage to any player it hits. Standing on it when launched will carry you with it, giving you less gravity to prevent damage from falling.

How to go the distance with kinetic ore in fortnite
The most consistent way to travel distance with kinetic ore in Fortnite is to aim at the sky while hitting the rock with your pickaxe, then climb to the top before launching.
Your character must stay on top of the kinetic ore as it flies through the air but you’ll probably have to do this a few times to cover the 1,000 meters required for the challenge.
