Viral Apex Legends TikTok calls for more dev communication as major changes go unannounced

Apex Legends players are furious with the devs, as a viral TikTok highlights a number of instances where there was a lack of transparency when communicating with the community.

The Apex Legends Spellbound Collection event update brought a variety of content to the game, from the return of Control to a new legacy and a set of 24 cosmetic items.

While the update was supposed to get players back in the game after a bit of a dry spell when it comes to content and balance changes, unfortunately, the devs have received a lot of backlash for the private match requirements and Horizon Shadow nerf.

Looks like this was the last straw for some players stereo mic decided to address the devs in a viral TikTok claim to show the response was “less than transparent”.

Apex Legends content creator Catalyst noted things like the release trailer, which he thinks makes it seem like the character will be a “hard sear counter,” when in fact that isn’t the case.

They also refer to Apex Legends’ testing of the SBMM changes, as the devs shared a chart that omitted the Y axis, leaving players to make their “own conclusions”. Tikokar eventually realizes that the devs are being suspicious, as he feels that the devs should give players “all the information, or none of it”.

Finally, the content creator also mentions the Horizon nerfs and private match requirements that were not included in the Apex Legends Spellbound patch notes as more examples of feedback not being “upfront and direct with the community.”

The player is not happy with the way Apex Legends devs have been communicating lately, even saying that “these are not the decisions of a confident developer in the lifespan of their product.”

Tiktok ends with the player saying that the game is good, but wishes that the devs would “like the f**king.” Clearly, they’re not the only ones who feel that way, as TikTok has managed to garner over 16k likes, over 100,000 views, and tons of comments.

One user in the comments even said that “It’s hilarious how incredible a game they have and they’re actually smothering it with a pillow because they make us smile.”
