The Finals March 17 update patch notes: Buffs & nerfs, Diamond rank added, more

Finals received a new update on March 17, which brought a number of fixes and balance changes for players. Here are The Final 0.4 patch notes.

The Final Beta has taken the FPS community by storm, as lucky players will continue to enjoy the Closed Beta until March 21st.

The developers at Embark Studios are working hard, rolling out frequent patches to ensure that FINAL is in tip-top condition to keep players entertained. Now, March 17 brings with it another update for the free-to-play game, which brings a bunch of balance changes and improvements.

For those interested, here are the full patch notes for The Finals’ March 17th update.

New Diamond League ranked in the finals

As of the March 17 patch, players from Finals can now progress to a new maximum rank, the Diamond League. This means that players who were ranked Gold in Tournament Mode can now advance to the Diamond League ranks, helping players take another step forward.

  • Fixed an issue where the ‘Invite to Party’ button would appear for the party leader even when the party is full
  • Fixed an issue that prevented reporting a player from the recent players screen

  • Added new audio while in use, including volume adjustments based on speed and new exit and entry audios
  • Max duration has been increased from 10 seconds to 12 seconds

  • Heavy health reduced from 350 to 325

  • 25% less radius
  • Increased friction and reduced bounce for easier installation of dome shields
  • removed the ability to take them
  • Fixed an issue where they could be knocked over or pushed over at cashout stations and vaults


  • Decreased health given by 50%

explosive mine

  • Fixed an issue where viewer cameras could cause exploding mines
  • Mine environmental damage increased from 550 to 1025

weight lifter

  • Oil barrel environmental damage increase from 550 to 2050


.30-06 Sniper

  • Fixed an issue where the sniper scope’s crosshair could twitch


  • AKM magazine size increased from 30 to 36


  • Flamethrower reload time has been reduced from 4 seconds to 3.5 seconds


  • LH1 magazine size has been increased from 10 to 20

M32 grenade launcher

  • M32 reload time has been reduced from 3.5 seconds to 3.1 seconds


  • M60 reload time has been reduced from 4 seconds to 3.5 seconds


  • Magazine size has been increased from 32 to 40

pump-action grenade launcher

  • Reduce pump-action manual action reload duration by 20%

repeater shotgun

  • bullet dispersion size reduction

riot shield

  • Riot Shield damage increased from 60 to 68

SA1216 Shotgun

  • bullet dispersion size reduction


  • Sledgehammer damage increased from 130 to 145
  • Sledgehammer environmental damage increased from 550 to 685


  • Sword damage increased from 45 to 74


  • V9S magazine size has been increased from 18 to 24
