The Terrastal Phenomenon is one of the new battle features of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and has rocked Generation Nine. Here’s a detailed description of Tera’s type and how to Terralize in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Traditionally, with each new Pokémon generation comes a new battle mechanic to shake up the gameplay, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are no different.

In the past, we’ve seen great new combinations like the Mega Evolution and the Dynamax Transformation. This time, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players are treated to the Terrestrial Phenomenon.

This new battle mechanic, available to Pokémon found in the Paldia region, allows them to Terralize. Terrestrialized Pokémon will not only take on a shiny new appearance, but they’ll also get a major combat boost in battle.

How to Terralize in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

When a Pokémon is in battle its potential skyrockets and your Pokémon’s moves will be especially strong in battle, which will add a whole new layer of strategy to the game, especially for tougher opponents like Gym Leaders.

Of course, this new battle mechanic can only be performed within the Paldia Sphere, as it is said to be generated from the energy that the Sphere stores deep within the ground.

The Terrestrial Phenomenon is a relatively new concept and even Professor Sada and Professor Turo continue to uncover all its mysteries.

Given how powerful this new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet mechanic is, it’s no surprise that you can only Terrestalize a Pokémon once during battle, and they’ll be in this state until the battle stops. Will keep the form.

If you want to restore this power, simply make your way to a Pokémon Center or interact with a Terrastal Crystal, and using it will return your Terra Orb to its full capabilities.

Changing type and boosting stats isn’t the only benefit of Terastalizing in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Tera Blast, a new move that can be learned through a TM, will also play a unique role in Terrastal Phenomenon.

Tera Blast is a normal-type move, but when used by a Terralized Pokémon it takes on the Pokémon’s Terra type. For example, a Tyranitar with the Ghost Terra type would have access to Ghost-type Terra Blast.

It remains to be seen whether Tera Blast can be used more than once in battle, but so far no mention has been made of the limits of use. It’s important to note that Tera Blast uses up stat higher than attack and SP. Attack to deal damage, which adds another layer of strategy to Scarlet and Violet’s battles.
