Overwatch 2 devs announce huge changes to Junker Queen & Roadhog coming soon

Overwatch 2 heroes Junker Queen and Roadhog are set to get some major twists in the future as the devs outline the changes to come.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 brought the arrival of Ramatra, a new tank hero who eventually received changes in the December 15 patch after players realized that buffs were needed to improve the tank’s viability against others in the category.

While Ramatra may now be a popular pick in the tank category, Roadhog remains a prime choice thanks to his incredibly strong damage output and ability to take out Squishy Heroes with one move.

Also, the Junker Queen has fallen out of favor a bit due to the dominance of the other tanks, but that could all change as the devs outline changes for both the Junker Queen and the Roadhog.

With the exception of Roadhog and Junker Queen, the December 15 patch brought a variety of changes to several Heroes in Overwatch 2. However, following the announcement of the patch notes, the devs revealed that there would be changes to both heroes.

overwatch 2 roadhog nerf

For Roadhog, Overwatch 2 developer Alec Dawson spoke with on a recent Twitch stream emong And Roadhog touched on the lack of changes for Overwatch 2, despite the tank’s apparent strengths.

Fortunately, for those watching this hog of the tank, it looks like the devs are planning to introduce a “soft rework” for Hero in 2023 “sometime in January”. It’s unclear what this rework is, but it’s clear the devs are looking at a change in his kit and plan.

The main issue with Roadhog is his Hook ability, which allows him to hook enemy Heroes in and finish them off, often in one shot. That could all change in the future, as the devs say that Roadhog is “going to be very, very cool.”

overwatch 2 junker queen buff

As far as Junker Queen, the devs announced on Twitter that, despite being omitted from the December 15th patch notes, “Junker Queen buffs will be coming soon in the mid-season patch.”

The mid-season patch for Overwatch 2 Season 2 is set for “the first week of January,” so we’ll keep you posted as the patch details are released.

While not much is known about these Junker Queen buffs, Alec Dawson said it would be a “really spicy makeover” during a Twitch stream with Among, indicating it could be huge.

We’ll have to wait for the Overwatch 2 Season 2 mid-season update to reveal more details about the Junker Queen buffs and potentially Roadhog rework/nerfs.

For now, check out everything you need to know about the Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event and the expected start date for Season 3.
