The Overwatch 2 developer has confirmed that a nerf set is coming very soon to address the frustrating Sojourn and Mercy combination that has been dominating throughout Season 2.
Like its processor, the key to achieving the highest rank in Overwatch 2 is making the most of your hero and learning how to effectively combine their abilities with those of other characters. But as fans will know, not all heroes are created equal and some are more effective than others.
Sojourn has been one of the most powerful DPS characters in Overwatch 2 so far, and has received several nerfs already. Despite these adjustments, savvy players are using Mercy’s damage boosting ability to restore her full potential, which has led to a lot of frustrating matches where the duo dominates.
The DPS hero, when combined with Mercy’s damage boosting ability, can finish off 200 health heroes with a single headshot, which has been the main source of respawn.
After receiving numerous complaints about the Sojourn Mercy Pocket, a Blizzard dev has now revealed that another nuke is on the way.
The confirmation came after Twitter user ‘Crackinlmao’ mentioned the official overwatch 2 account, again calling for both to be accommodated.
Sojourn with a pity pocket every single game is really disappointing. The higher I get, the worse it is,” he said. “Please @PlayOverwatch how is this still a thing? If S3 is like this I’m uninstalling [as] I can not do this. It’s hard to love a game that’s so bad.
Overwatch community manager, Jody Grace, quickly responded by saying that she understands the anger among the community, but there is improvement in the work.
“Exactly. I know it just hurts, especially when you see it so often in your games,” Grace replied. “We’ll have more to share soon, but changes are coming!”
Sadly, she didn’t go into any details about the changes being prepared, but several other players urged the devs to deactivate Sojourn’s kits instead of having mercy.
He also did not give a clear time frame for when NERF would be issued. However, with Overwatch 2 Season 3 just a few weeks away, players shouldn’t have too long to wait.
