FIFA 23 is the last game in the franchise to include FIFA branding before EA shifted to EA Sports FC.

While FIFA 23 introduced new FUT features like World Cup content and crossplay support, Ultimate Team fans were pleased to know that some returning features also appeared in FIFA 23.

One of these returning features was none other than FUT Hero Cards. Here’s everything you need to know about the FUT Hero card in FIFA 23.

What are FUT Hero cards in FIFA 23?

The FUT Hero card was a new introduction in FIFA 22 and the concept is to highlight incredible players of the past who never reached icon status in FIFA 23.

EA selected a group of players that had a common characteristic of leadership and respect for the clubs they played for.

These Hero Items are special cards in FUT because they use unique alchemical properties. They are always on full chemistry and promote players from the same league by two chemistry points and the same country by one.

The developers have also announced special World Cup Heroes, upgraded versions of their Aadhaar cards inspired by their careers at the international level.

Every FIFA 22 hero returns in FIFA 23, as EA doubles down on features this year. However, only 21 new players are confirmed to receive World Cup Hero items at launch. This does not include post-launch additions like Ledley King.

You may have noticed that Jay-Jay Okocha and Hidetoshi Nakata are also heroes in FIFA 23, after appearing as icons in previous years.
