Epic Games CEO teases Fortnite’s return to iOS in 2023

Fortnite players were disappointed when Apple removed the game from the App Store in 2020, and now the CEO of Epic Games has hinted at the return of the battle royale title to the store.

Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale titles on the market with a huge player base around the world, and Epic Games keeps it fresh by adding new content like cosmetic skins and weekly quests.

However, the iOS version of the game was taken offline back in 2020, and was frustrating for players on that platform. Now, it looks like Fortnite is making its long-awaited return on iOS devices.

Hours before 2023 arrived, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney tweeted: “Next year on iOS!” This was followed by another tweet which showed a picture of fortnite In-game celebration for the New Year.

This led Fortnite players to speculate about the return of the battle royale title to Apple’s App Store. Unfortunately, Tim Sweeney didn’t provide any further information beyond these two tweets.

Fortnite was removed from the Apple Store after Apple accused Epic Games of violating its terms of service. This proved difficult for players who could no longer enjoy the game on iOS devices.

Luckily, players were still able to play Fortnite on iPhone and iOS through Xbox’s cloud gaming and GeForce Now. At the time of writing, it’s unclear exactly when the battle royale title will return to the Apple Store.

If Tim Sweeney’s tweet is anything to go by, we can expect it to be added to the Apple Store later in 2023. We’ll keep checking for any further developments regarding this, and we’ll be sure to update you as soon as an official date is out. Found out.
