fifa 23 Crossplay allows people to play games with friends regardless of the platform they own, and as FIFA 23 is the first in the series to launch with the feature, there’s been a lot of buzz in how it works.

Crossplay has been an important feature for multiplayer games over the last five years. Gone are the days when friend and foe were confined to your console of choice.

Huge franchises like Call of Duty, Fortnite and Apex Legends have all embraced cross-platform gaming and now EA has brought the concept to its soccer franchise.

EA’s FIFA 23 is the first time the series has launched a game with crossplay, but unfortunately, there are some major caveats to how it works.

Is there crossplay in FIFA 23?

Yes, FIFA 23 features crossplay for the first time in the franchise’s history. Unfortunately, though, it’s been restricted to 1v1 mode only.

Players will be able to join matches featuring competitors on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC. Those using a last-gen console like the PS4 or Xbox One will be able to play together, but will be separated from everyone else as they’ll be playing a different version of the game.

FIFA 23 Crossplay-Enabled Mode

fifa 23 is Crossplay enabled in all 1v1 modes, This means that any game in which you play against a singular opponent, you’ll see enemies battle from all platforms.

In Ultimate Team, this means friendly, division rival matches, and FUT Champions games can see you as a player on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X.

Online Seasons and VOLTA Soccer also utilize cross-platform play.

Is there crossplay in FIFA 23 Pro Clubs?

FIFA 23 Pro Club sadly doesn’t feature crossplay in any capacity. This means that you will only be able to play with players who have the same system as you.

Players who have different consoles in the same family can still play together should they download last-gen versions of games on PS5 or Xbox Series X to their new consoles. PC players will only be able to play with others using Steam or Origin.
