Hogwarts Legacy gives Harry Potter fans the opportunity to be a part of the Wizarding World, but can you use dark magic and become the villain in the story? We’ve got answers.
With the release of Hogwarts Legacy comes a whole lot of Harry Potter content, including a massive open world with many classic locations from the franchise that players will be able to explore.
Once you’ve chosen your house and gathered your wand, you’ll be able to perform all kinds of magic as you explore the school. However, players are wondering if they will have the freedom to go down a dark path in the story.
Can you be evil in Hogwarts Legacy?

You can also choose to make friends from different houses, including Slytherin student Sebastian Solo, who can trick you into his pranks. It is through befriending him that you will learn of the Cruciatus curse.
The developers have made it clear that the game can have multiple outcomes depending on your actions. However, it’s not clear what will change in the end if you make these decisions.
It’s likely that while you can do bad things, you won’t be able to be a full-fledged villain because you’re still a hero. The trailer shows that you will have to fight with dark magicians, so it is unlikely that you will be as evil as them.
Of course, we won’t know for sure how far back your evil deeds go until Hogwarts Legacy is released. However, you will have the option to decide what kind of student you will be based on what the developers have said.
