Apex Legends Private Matches: How to create & join custom games

Apex Legends Season 15’s Collection event has been revealed, and it’s bringing Seer’s Legacy and opening up private matches to everyone. Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends private matches and how to play them.

With Apex Legends Season 15 in full swing and the Wintertide Collection event over, players now have a Spellbound Collection event to look forward to. Not only will Seer’s ‘showstoppers’ Heirlooms arrive, but control returns and devs have finally opened up private matches to all players.

Here’s everything we know so far about Apex Legends private matches, including when they arrive and how to play them.

When do private matches come out in Apex Legends?

Private matches are coming to Apex Legends 10 January as part of Enchanted Collection Event Update.

With the return of showstoppers Heirloom of Control and Seer comes private matches.

How to play a private match in Apex Legends

Apex Legends Private Match can be accessed via the Game Mode Select button in the Private Match tab.

Once Private Matches are up, there will be a menu that allows players to create or join an Apex Legends Private Match without a tournament admin code.

Here’s everything you need to do:

1. Launch Apex Legends after January 10th.
2. Press the Game Mode select box.
3. Navigate to the Private Match tab with RB on Xbox and R1 on PlayStation.
4. Press Create Match to create your own custom lobby.
5. Enter someone’s tournament participant code to join another private match.

Once a private match is created, you can assign players to different teams and tweak the settings. While you can “invite up to 60 players and 5 observers to join a standard game,” it is unclear whether there is a minimum number of players that can join.

We should know more once Rapson releases its FAQ closer to the arrival of the Spellbound Collection event.
