Tyranitar claims a pseudo-legendary status for its intimidating looks and massive attack power, but like any other Pokémon in the franchise, it has weaknesses and resistance trainers can exploit.


According to the Pokedex entry, Tyranitar is a Pokémon that can crush a mountain with one hand. It’s no wonder players are always looking for tips on how to defeat this mighty Pokémon across the many different games in the franchise.

What type is Tyranitar?

Tyranitar is a dual Rock and Dark-Type Pokémon, no other pokemon in the whole suffrage It shares a very unique type of combination, so finding its weaknesses is not an easy process.

Beyond its typing, it’s important to note that Tyranitar can learn a variety of attacks in the mainline games, including Dark, Electric, Ice, Fire, Rock, Normal, and Ground-type moves.
